250g butter
250g sugar
4 eggs
1 pk. lemon rind
1 pk. vanilla sugar
125ml milk
500g flour
1 pk. baking powder
3 dessert spoons cocoa powder
Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl until creamy and light.
Add the vanilla sugar, lemon rind and eggs and beat well.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and add the flour mixture and milk alternately to the cake mixture. Mix well after each addition.
Grease a baking tin (loaf tin) with butter and then pour in two thirds of the mixture.
Add the cocoa powder to the remaining cake mixture still in the bowl and mix well. If necessary add a drop of milk.
Pour the cocoa mix into the baking tin and mix through with a fork to make the marble appearance.
Bake the marble cake in the middle of a preheated oven for 55-70 minutes at 180 degrees C. After 20 minutes baking time take a knife and cut a line through the middle of the cake. After baking cool slightly and turn out onto a plate.
