Baked Apples
Ingredients
1 large cooking apple per person
Mincemeat
Brown sugar
199
Butter

Remove the cores from the apples and stand them in an
ovenproof dish. Fill the hole in the apple with mincemeat
and a teaspoon of brown sugar. Add a knob of butter on
top. Put enough water in the dish to cover the bottom
of the apples. Bake at Gas Mark 4 (180 °C, 350 °F) for
about an hour.
After an hour test the apple with a skewer. It should
be soft, but not mushy. Serve with cream or ice cream.
