Black Julep
10 mint leaves plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
1½ tsp. extra-fine sugar
2 splashes seltzer water
3 oz. José Cuervo black medallion tequila
Place the 10 mint leaves in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass
or julep cup, and add the sugar. Crush with a muddler or
wooden spoon until the leaves begin to come apart. Add a
splash of seltzer. Fill the glass one-quarter full with crushed ice,
and add the tequila. Top with another splash of seltzer, stir, and
garnish with the mint sprig.
